Bids Requested

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) is the 8th largest water and wastewater utility in the nation, with a network of nearly 5,400 miles of sewer pipeline within Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties, Maryland. In their efforts to meet a federally mandated Consent Decree by December 2015 and the need to rehabilitate their aging infrastructure, WSSC is preparing to solicit for additional Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contracts for trenchless rehabilitation of sewer mains. The planned work is currently being designed in multiple sewer sheds across the Sanitary District. The Consent Decree requires work detailed in these IDIQ contracts to be completed within a specific timeframe to eliminate or reduce sanitary sewer overflows and basement backups.

An Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Contract is a competitively bid, firm, fixed price construction contract. The scope of work shall include detailed repair, rehabilitation or replacement tasks following the WSSC approved Standard Specifications and Standard Details.  Unit Prices shall be established through this bidding process. The WSSC will be advertising Solicitations through its Central Bidder Registration (CBR) system. Approximately 23 contracts will be advertised over the next several months. The next series of bids for three contracts will be posted on or before February 29, 2012. The Prime Contractors awarded these projects shall have construction teams capable of executing repair, rehabilitation and replacement of sanitary sewer mains, manholes and related sanitary sewer infrastructure in an expeditious manner.
